How much thought do you put into your user manual?  Or for that matter, how much thought do you put into your print or verbal communication?  How much of your communication is laced with so much insider speak that the new customer really can't get it?

Word to the wise…we all need to be going for what "Carl Ledbetter, former president of AT&T Consumer products, used to call the Wet Nap Interface, products built to be used as simply as the directions on those little moist towelettes you get with take-out foods: "Tear open and use (p. 256, The Art of Innovation)."

I've decided that I need to begin keeping a list of all the insider speak going on during just one average day at the office.  Great idea to also keep track of the way we're explaining our business to our customer.
